[004] - Action!

Outside 1665 Nelson and around town.
[So yeah that event wasn't so fun but HEY NOW THERE IS A PACKAGE ADDRESSED TO WALLY.

Excellent.

He opens it up and... there's nothing inside. Weird. He shakes it a little, as if that would dislodge something hidden but... there's nothing inside.

But. Hey. He's...

...feeling pretty speedy.

He grins, and without a second thought he sprints down the road at about sixty miles an hour.

And then he starts going faster.

And faster.

He's circled the town a few times over the course of the next ten minutes at speeds approaching the speed of sound, which is pretty damn fast, okay. But by the time he zips back to the mailbox at 1665 Nelson, he's frowning a little.]

...still not fast enough. But hey, better than nothing.

[And then he realizes.]

...oops. I hope no one noticed that.

[Because he just raced around Mayfield in civilian clothes. Not exactly conducive to a secret identity.

Over the course of the day you might see your friendly neighborhood Flash, in full costume, racing around town. There's not a whole lot to do, but man it feels good to be running again, even if it's not as fast as he can go normally. Give a shout, he may stop and talk to you!

Of course, it's also possible you might have caught a glimpse of Wally running around this morning in his normal clothes out of the corner of your eye. Maybe. It's possible. But are you really sure?]

[In typical cartoon fashion, Beast Boy is totally minding his own business when he finds himself spinning like a top down the middle of the road.]

[Diving out of the way of a guy running at the speed of sound doesn't work too well. He smashes into a tree instead.]

Man, do I ever know what that's like. Sometimes I swear those cracks just jump up to trip me over, you know?

How far do you think it is from here to the center of town and back?

[Flash shrugs.]

I got a pretty good taste of the whole "other universe" thing on my first day here, and I also live with a talking pony, so I guess it's easy for me to remember.

Also we've had to deal with some pretty whacked-out alternate universes back home, so there's all that too.

[He sighs and scratches his head.]

Well... you see... back home I'm... I'm a superhero.

[And Flash skids to a halt and turns to speed back to Alfred.]

Hey man, what's up?

[Oh man he really tries hard not to hit people, so when he notices that he has, he turns right around and goes to help them out. He zips up and isn't there quite in time to rescue Beast Boy from the tree, but at least he can help him up, which he's going to try to do.]

[Peter leans in close, looking furtively around him and speaking in a low voice.]

[Flash shakes his head.]

[Peter tries to hide his disappointment. Damn, this Mayfield is wreaking havoc on his sense of self-importance...]

Er... no reason, I guess. I just, uh, heard he's in town here someplace, so I was curious.

[Flash isn't dumb, but he can sure as hell be unobservant sometimes. This is one of those times. He grins.]

Spidey? Can't miss him. Tall, muscular, might be wearing a red and black costume with cool, one of a kind reflective bug eyes. His specialties are swinging on webs across buildings, sticking to walls, acrobatics and a razor sharp wit. You'd love him; all the kids sure do.

[He's talking about Spiderman like Wally talks about himself, which kind of sort of clues him in but only a little tiny bit.

He grins.]

Awesome, I'll totally keep an eye out for him.

[Beast Boy's eyes are still spinning around in circles. Perhaps Wally may escape this one without his secret identity being compromised.]

So that's how you got back so quick... There are six of you.

[Flumph. Beast Boy flops over.]

[Beast Boy eventually blinks himself back into normality before rubbing at the back of his head a little.]

Man, who're you supposed to be? The Flash?

((And I have just realized that there was a second part of the post involving in-costume which you probably thought I was replying to hence the icon and which would work out better anyway so let's go with that! Sorry about being dense!))
