[004] - Action!

Outside 1665 Nelson and around town.
[So yeah that event wasn't so fun but HEY NOW THERE IS A PACKAGE ADDRESSED TO WALLY.

Excellent.

He opens it up and... there's nothing inside. Weird. He shakes it a little, as if that would dislodge something hidden but... there's nothing inside.

But. Hey. He's...

...feeling pretty speedy.

He grins, and without a second thought he sprints down the road at about sixty miles an hour.

And then he starts going faster.

And faster.

He's circled the town a few times over the course of the next ten minutes at speeds approaching the speed of sound, which is pretty damn fast, okay. But by the time he zips back to the mailbox at 1665 Nelson, he's frowning a little.]

...still not fast enough. But hey, better than nothing.

[And then he realizes.]

...oops. I hope no one noticed that.

[Because he just raced around Mayfield in civilian clothes. Not exactly conducive to a secret identity.

Over the course of the day you might see your friendly neighborhood Flash, in full costume, racing around town. There's not a whole lot to do, but man it feels good to be running again, even if it's not as fast as he can go normally. Give a shout, he may stop and talk to you!

Of course, it's also possible you might have caught a glimpse of Wally running around this morning in his normal clothes out of the corner of your eye. Maybe. It's possible. But are you really sure?]

[EXCEPT as soon as Flash realizes he's hit someone--or nearly hit them, it doesn't make much of a difference at these speeds--he whirls around and CATCHES THE CAKE, coming to a sudden halt right next to him.]

Whoa! Sorry about that man, that could've been a real tragedy right there.

[Peter blinks, impressed and grateful. He gives Wally a once-over. Standard hero attire, cocky grin.]

Whoa! Guess you really ARE a superhero, huh?

Guess so. I'm the Flash, fastest man alive! Nice to meet you.

[He sticks out a hand to shake as he hands the cake back to Peter.]

Yeah? Well, I may not be the fastest man alive, but I now have 50% less sugar, and I'm a part of your balanced breakfast.

Name's Peter Parker, nice to meet ya. I don't think I've heard of ya... You a New York based hero? Heard of the Avengers, by any chance?

[Flash laughs.]

Hey man, a healthy breakfast is something every hero needs to start the day.

Nah, I'm from Central City. And we don't have Avengers... we've got the Justice League, though.

[Hm... Peter doesn't think he's heard of the Justice League. Which PROBABLY means they're not from Earth, though it could just be a brand new te-- no, they don't know the Avengers. EVERYONE knows the Avengers. Definitely not from Earth, though he LOOKS human. ...But so does Thor.]

Central City? Where's that?

[Flash blinks. Central City is no Metropolis or Gotham, but people at least know where it is.]

Huh. I'm thinking this is one of those "different universe" type dealies.

[Peter slaps his forehead. DOY! Of course its a multi universe thing! He can't believe he forgot the GIANT (well...for a rodent) hedgehog that spoke English, wore shoes and had a bad attitude.]

Oh! Yeah, you're probably right. I just haven't seen any superheroes yet besides the ones from my 'hood, so...

ER... not that, uh, I know ageing about parallel universes beyond, like, Star Trek. Heh.

I got a pretty good taste of the whole "other universe" thing on my first day here, and I also live with a talking pony, so I guess it's easy for me to remember.

Also we've had to deal with some pretty whacked-out alternate universes back home, so there's all that too.

[Peter leans in close, looking furtively around him and speaking in a low voice.]

[Peter tries to hide his disappointment. Damn, this Mayfield is wreaking havoc on his sense of self-importance...]

Er... no reason, I guess. I just, uh, heard he's in town here someplace, so I was curious.

[Flash isn't dumb, but he can sure as hell be unobservant sometimes. This is one of those times. He grins.]

Well hey, if I see him I'll let you know. What's he look like? What's he do?

Spidey? Can't miss him. Tall, muscular, might be wearing a red and black costume with cool, one of a kind reflective bug eyes. His specialties are swinging on webs across buildings, sticking to walls, acrobatics and a razor sharp wit. You'd love him; all the kids sure do.

[He's talking about Spiderman like Wally talks about himself, which kind of sort of clues him in but only a little tiny bit.

He grins.]
