RL with Suze, just for lulz.

It was early evening and Flash was on monitor duty up in the Watchtower. Since it wasn't that late, there were still Leaguers wandering around somewhere, probably, but for the moment he was on his own in the control room.

...he really wished he could turn on some music or something. Monitor duty was boring 85% of the time.

"Perfect," Suze smiled as she took the paper and read it over. "Perhaps I can use the other league members' autographs as bribes in the future."

"You'd have to get them first. And after our little stunt here I'm not entirely sure they'll be willing. And... well, some of them are more open to autographs than others."

"Why do I have the feeling that Batty's signiture will be a challange to get?" Suze grinned, almost excited at the difficulty.

Flash cringed in mock discomfort. "Do you really want me to list the reasons? There's probably at least five, maybe more."

"Eh, I'm sure I'll figure out some way to get it," Suze shrugged. "...eventually."

"Don't hold your breath. He's not going to be too... um. Friendly. Toward either of us after this. That and he's not exactly the autograph type anyway."

"I figured," Suze said, rolling her eyes. "But I'm not one to give up so easily."

Flash laughed. "No, I'd imagine not." He stretched out again, keeping an eye on the screens in front of them.

Suze was silent for a while, not able to think of what to say. After a few minutes of sitting and staring she let out a fake yawn.

"Wow, this job really is boring. How do you do it all the time?"

Flash rolled his eyes. "Told you. Luckily I don't have to do it all the time. We've got it on a rotating shift schedule, because no one really likes monitor duty. J'onn does it most often and for the longest because he's got the least amount of responsibilities aside from the League. Most of the rest of us have jobs and secret identities to maintain, so we can't be up here all the time. J'onn usually stands watch during the day, and the rest of us rotate the night shift. So tonight I'm on from six until midnight, and GL's got it from midnight until six in the morning. Then J'onn takes over again. So I usually only have to do three shifts a week."

Flash shrugged. "It's not so bad. You get used to it, or you fall asleep."

"Secret identities," Suze nodded. "Right. Those are fun."

"Tons of fun, in fact!" His reply was such that it wasn't entirely clear whether he meant it or was being sarcastic.

"Mmm," Suze said, giving Flash a look, like she was trying to figure out what he actually meant. "Though it's never all that fun to lie about stuff like that."

"No kidding." Flash crossed his arms. "It's not so bad most of the time, but the balancing act sucks, as well as the lying part."

"Yeah, it's always fun keeping my ghost adventures from my happy taco-eating family," Suze said as she leaned back in the chair, slumping down a bit.

Flash looked over at Suze and raised an eyebrow. "'Ghost adventures?' Don't think you've mentioned those before."

"Really?" Suze blinked. "I thought I had mentioned it," she said with a shrug.

"I'm a mediator. Basically I help ghosts get to wherever it is they need to go."

"So you see ghosts and stuff? That must be... interesting."

"Interesting and a pain," Suze replied. "Stupid ghosts whining all the time. Makes having a normal social life rather difficult."

"Bummer. Are they all over the place?"

Flash paused and looked around.

"Are there any in here?"

"Pretty much," Suze said with a nod.

"Nah, no dead people here. Trust me, I would have started this conversation alot more grumpy if there had been."

Flash looked a bit relieved. "Well that's good. I don't think I'd be able to handle being watched by Batman and who knows how many ghosts at the same time. That'd just be creepy."

"Creepy indeed," Suze smirked. "At least most of them know to keep out of bathrooms and places like that. Otherwise things would get really creepy."

Flash shuddered. "Oh man, I do not want to think about that."

"No,you really really don't," Suze laughed.

"But I know how much the lying part of secret identities must suck," she told him. Doc's the only one in my family who knows anything about it."
